Professor David Howard, a Founding Member from the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital and latterly Imperial College NHS Trust, has been visiting the Korle Bu Hospital in Accra, Ghana, for the last twenty years on the invitation of Professor Emmanuel Kircher and more recently by Head of Department Dr Kenneth Baidoo.
Mr. Hassan El Hassan has been awarded the 2020 AGA-ENT – KARL STORZ fellowships and will travel there in spring 2020. In 2020 Prof. David Howard and Mr. Matt Lechner travelled to Ghana to deliver equipment from the company KARL STORZ and continue the surgical teaching programme.

In 2019 the awarded fellowship allowed Mr. James Rudd, a senior trainee in ENT/Head and Neck Surgery in London, to travel there together with Professor David Howard from the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, and latterly Imperial College NHS Trust, who has been visiting the hospital for the last twenty years on the invitation of Professor Emmanuel Kircher, and more recently by the Head of Department Dr Kenneth Baidoo. Also visiting was Mr Hassan El-Hassan a sub-specialist rhinologist of The Homerton University Hospital. The team worked with local surgeons with the equipment donated by KARL STORZ and will return to further this fruitful collaboration.
