About Us

The Association for the Global Advancement of ENT Surgery and Head and Neck Cancer Research (AGA-ENT) is a registered charity (foundation) formed in 2015 dedicated to the advancement of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and Head & Neck Cancer Research across the world, in particular but not exclusively by:

• Supporting the provision of awareness and screening programmes
• Supporting Cancer Research by the provision of grants

Currently we are promoting global health efforts in low and middle income countries with a specific focus on projects in India, Indonesia, Ghana, Tanzania, et al. 

We are an International organization with members from all over the world, engaging with national ENT and head and neck organisations, supporting other charities related to Global Health and ENT/Head and Neck Surgery and support head and neck cancer research by project grants in both developing countries and in the UK. We focus our work on two core themes, i.e. betel nut-induced oral cancer (BICRAA app and ‘Beat Betel’ campaign) and the early detection of nasopharyngeal cancer. Our membership is open to doctors and health care professionals of all grades in otorhinolaryngology/head and neck surgery and in related disciplines. We award two AGA-ENT – KARL STORZ fellowships per year, giving young surgeons a chance to make a difference and work with us and KARL STORZ to improve surgical care and outcomes in low and middle income countries.
